The Barn Academy, LLC

The Barn Academy, LLC was formally established in 2020. Prior to then, it was known as O’Conner’s Barn. The barn had been used by teammates & friends of the O’Conner’s to train & practice in since it was built in 2002.

In the summer of 2020, MiLB suspended their season due to COVID. The suspended season left Justin (NY Yankees organization) and his cousin Luke Miller (Philadelphia Phillies organization) with nothing to do for the summer. Along with Luke’s brother Jon and a few other former college players, The Barn Academy, LLC was formed and officially began offering Hitting, Catching, Pitching, Strength & Conditioning Classes.

In the Fall of 2021, the first TBA Shuckers Travel Teams were formed and began training & playing throughout the 21’/22’ season.

Moving into the ‘23/’24 Travel Ball Season, the TBA Shuckers was rebranded as the Indiana Shuckers.

As we continue to grow our Training Class Offerings, Indiana Shuckers Teams and add additional Instructors & Coaches, our focus will always be one of Development first and working to help players reach their potential. Our views on fundamentals, mechanics and coaching are heavily influenced from our own personal playing experience from Youth through High School, College and Professionally.

Our Staff of Instructors & Coaches is led by Justin O’Conner who was the 2010 Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association POY, 2010 Indiana Mr. Baseball, and 2010 1st Round MLB Draft Pick of the Tampa Bay Rays. Justin has spent the past 12 years playing professionally for the Rays, Giants, White Sox, Yankees organizations and now continues to play professionally with the Charleston Dirty Birds in the Americal League of Professional Baseball.
